Helping writers write for over a decade!

Researching Your Book
Even if you aren't writing a historical romance
novel, you will more often than not still need to
do research for your book. It might be on a
state, a job, a car, even plants or prison time
for a crime. There seems there is something in
every story that an author just doesn't know
enough about to cover without a little extra
help.
No matter what, you don't want to mess up. If
you do, you will hear about it, either from a
critique partner, an agent, an editor, or worse
of all, a pile of readers who feel cheated or
angry and think you didn't do your job well
enough. Hopefully the links below will give you
at least some starting points, if not all the
information you need on some things.
I tried to put together as many great Research Links as I can find.
They cover topics such as the police, medicine, witches, werewolves,
buggies and boats. There are sections on the Civil War, the Middle
Ages, the Old West, and more.
The Research Books page follows the same pattern. I've tried to
list books that cover all of the above, finding books written just for
writers when I could, since they are so much easier and quicker to
use.
